Force India Academy driver Jehan Daruvala clinched his maiden victory in the Formula 3 European Championship.
Force India Academy driver Jehan Daruvala clinched his maiden victory in the Formula 3 European Championship. He became the second Indian driver after Narain Karthikeyan to win a Formula 3 race.
Daruvala outpaced the championship leader Maximilian Gunther to take victory at the Norisring circuit. The Formula 3 rookie, Daruvala started the race 2 in the second position.

Daruvala made an impressive start by overtaking Gunther, even before reaching the first turn. He successfully defended his position and endured two full-course yellow flag periods.
Daruvala led the entire 39 lap race from start to finish. Gunther was pushing hard to hunt down the Indian driver, but Daruvala showed immense temperament to outpace the championship leader.

Daruvala said, "Obviously we have been waiting for this win and it is great to finally be on the top step. I had a good reaction at the start and got Maxi and then the first laps were pretty good."

Jehan Daruvala becomes the second Indian driver to take Formula 3 race victory. The rookie river showed an incredible pace to fend off the championship leader, Ginther. Daruvala is a potential talent who could make it ot the top tier of four-wheel racing, the Formula One.
