The 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon has been revealed by the American carmaker as the toughest, most off-road capable Wrangler in its lineup.

The new Rubicon Recon gets increased 4x4 capability and protection from the most rugged terrain thanks to a new front axle, heavy-duty cast differential covers and enhanced off-road rock rails that are shortened to accommodate up to 35-inch tyres.

The new Wrangler Rubicon Recon is equipped with a Dana 44 front axle which features strengthened tubes and heavy-duty end forgings. The front and rear Tru-Lok locking differentials get stronger cast covers and feature an axle ratio of 4.10:1.
Standard on the Rubicon Recon is the Wrangler's part-time four-wheel-drive system which sends the power to the wheels with the help of either a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic gearbox.

The new Rubicon Recon sits on 17-inch Low Gloss Granite Crystal-painted aluminium wheels wrapped in 32-inch BF Goodrich KM off-road tires. The Recon is available in seven colors: Black, Bright White, Billet Silver, Firecracker Red, Gobi, Rhino, and Granite Crystal.

Other features include optional body color fender flares, a dual-vented Power Dome hood with a black-silhouette "Rubicon" decal on both sides and unique red interior accents.
