In a statement, FCA India President and Managing Director, Kevin Flynn said, "Customers have appreciated the competitive price positioning of the Jeep Compass since launch. Effective January 1, 2018, prices will increase by 2-4 percent, except for the entry-level variant."
Currently, the entry-level variant, Sport Petrol is priced at Rs 15.16 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi), and the same price will be retained in 2018. But the prices of Longitude and Limited trim will be increased by two to four percent. So, expect the prices to be hiked by up to Rs 80,000.

The prices for the Compass Longitude variant starts at Rs 17.13 lakh, and the Limited trim is priced between Rs 18.68 lakh and Rs 21.73 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom (Delhi). This is the second time the Compass is witnessing a price hike. When the GST came into effect, Jeep increased the prices of the SUV by up to Rs 72,000.
Jeep has already sold over 10,000 units of the Compass SUV in just four months since its launch in the country. The SUV is also exported to several foreign right-hand-drive markets from the Ranjangaon facility, making India as a global production hub for the Compass.
Currently, the Jeep Compass is offered in two engine options, a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The petrol engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic gearbox, whereas the diesel unit is coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Jeep India is the latest manufacturer to increase the prices of its SUV in the country. However, the base variant of the Compass is exempted from the price hike. The Compass has been a best-selling SUV since its launch, and it will be interesting to see how the price hike will impact the sales in 2018.
