India-Made Jeep Compass To Be Exported To Right-Hand Drive Global Markets
India-made Jeep Compass will be exported to right-hand drive markets such as UK, Australia and Japan. The compact SUV will be manufactured at Ranjangaon production facility near Pune.
The Indian wing of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, FCA India recently unveiled the Jeep Compass in India. The affordable SUV will be launched in the Indian market by third quarter of 2017.

The Compass SUV is the first product from Jeep to be locally manufactured in India. And now, Autocar India reports that the India-made Compass will be exported to right-hand drive global markets.

The Jeep Compass will be manufactured at the Ranjangaon production facility near Pune. The compact SUV will be exported to foreign markets such as Australia, Japan and UK.

The India-spec Compass will be available in two engine options - a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 2-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 160bhp, and the oil burner churns out 170bhp.

Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The Compass also features four-wheel-drive system with five driving modes - Auto, Snow, Sport, Sand/Mud and Rock.

The safety features of the Compass include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Dynamic Steering Torque (DST), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Adaptive Brake Lights and Panic Brake Assist.

When launched in India, the Compass is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 18 to Rs 25 lakh. The most affordable SUV from Jeep will rival the likes of Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V.
