2017 Frankfurt Motor Show: Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy Racing Series To Support Formula E
Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show and will enter FIA Formula E series in 2018.
Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy racing series launched at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Jaguar Land Rover says the Jaguar I-Pace race car will compete in a pioneering single-make series supporting the FIA Formula E world championship.
The electric race car is based on the Jaguar I-Pace, an all-electric SUV which is set to be launched in 2018 and the new Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy will join the Formula E circuit in 2018.To develop the all-electric Jaguar I-Pace for the harsh environment of racing, SVO will equip it with competition suspension, a roll cage and other track-spec modifications such as a fixed rear wing and diffuser.
Dr. Ralf Speth, CEO, Jaguar Land Rover, said: "The technology we are developing on the track allows us to deliver thrilling electric vehicles to our customers. The pace of change is exhilarating, and we want to go above and beyond for our customers."
"From 2020 every new Jaguar Land Rover vehicle will be electrified. Customers will be able to choose from battery electric, plug-in hybrid, and mild hybrid power as well as ultra-clean petrol and diesel engines.

Touted as the world's first all-electric production car race series, the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy will offer manufacturers to test and race their production vehicle and in turn have a better understanding the performance of the EVs.
