Spy Pics: Isuzu MU-X Spotted Undisguised; Launch Imminent
Isuzu MU-X will compete with the likes of Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner; likely to be priced at Rs 25 lakh for the top variant.
The Isuzu MU-X SUV has been spotted in India without any camouflage. Isuzu is expected to launch the SUV in the country on April 11, 2017.
The spy images, revealed by Autocar India are the first set of photos of the India-spec MU-X SUV. Isuzu MU-X will compete with the likes of Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner; likely to be priced at Rs 25 lakh for the top variant.
The Isuzu MU-X borrows much of its design language from the D-Max V-Cross, particularly in the front. The SUV receives a large, dual-slat chrome grille, swept-back headlight with projector setups, LED DRL strips around the fog lamp housings and black plastic cladding on the lower part of the bumper.
The side profile is defined by chunky wheel arches, 17-inch alloy wheels, striking roof rails and chromed ORVM caps and door handles.
The rear profile is different with wraparound, twin section taillamps, and a new bumper. The SUV's cabin is similar to that of the V-Cross' and the Chevrolet Trailblazer which also shares the same platform.
As for the interior layout, it is inspired from the D-Max V-cross. The MU-X comes with an all-black cabin design. The spy images reveal features including a touchscreen infotainment system, and steering mounted audio controls.
As for the powertrain, the 3.0-litre unit is expected to power the India-spec MU-X. The carmaker is likely to bring in the cheaper 150bhp 1.9-litre engine as well later this year.
Isuzu recently revealed a facelifted version of the MU-X for the global markets. However, in India, the pre-facelifted MU-X will make its way first, and the facelifted model will follow in 2018.
