The Japanese manufacturer is looking to pass on the benefits of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) slabs to buyers. GST has come as a blessing to SUV and premium car buyers as it has reduced the prices by up to 12 percent.

The newly launched Isuzu MU-X SUV has now priced at Rs 22.4 lakh to 24.4 lakh compared to Rs 23.9 lakh to 25.9 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi) priced when it was launched earlier in May 2017.

Under the GST slab, automobiles attract 28 percent tax with cess in the range of 1 to 15 percent based on engine and length of the vehicle.

Petrol cars less than 4 metres and with engine capacity, less than 1,200cc attracts 1 percent cess and diesel cars less than 1,500cc attracts 3 percent cess.
