Hyundai Xcent CNG Variant To Be Launched In India In September
Hyundai will launch the Xcent CNG version in India in September, which will now come with a factory fitted CNG unit.
Coming next month (September), Hyundai will launch the CNG variant of the Xcent compact sedan in India. The CNG unit will be factory fit and will be available with the petrol variant only.
Under Hyundai's 'Prime' nomenclature for the Taxi segment, the Xcent will come powered by a 1.2-litre Kappa dual VTVT engine that will produce 82bhp and 114Nm of torque.
The news about the Xcent Prime CNG variant was confirmed by Y.K. Koo, the MD and CEO of Hyundai Motor India. He said, "The company is all set to bring out a CNG variant in the Xcent Prime, and this will be launched in September."

With the launch of the CNG variant of the Xcent Prime, Hyundai is keen on taking down competition in the taxi segment, dominated by the Swift Dzire Tour and the Toyota Etios.

The Hyundai Xcent is selling in decent numbers, around 2000 to 3000 units a month. Taking into consideration the sales potential in the taxi industry, the CNG Xcent Prime can contribute significantly towards the sales of the compact sedan.
