New-Gen Hyundai Verna Is The Most Preferred Sedan — Here's Why
Hyundai India has sold more than 5,000 units of the new-generation Verna in October 2017.
Hyundai India launched the new-generation Verna in India ahead of the festive season, and within two months, the executive sedan is off to an excellent start.
As per ET Auto, the Korean carmaker revealed that they sold over 5,000 units of the new Verna in October 2017 in the passenger vehicle segment. The Verna's closest rivals, the Honda City and the Maruti Ciaz managed to sell 4,366 and 4,107 units respectively.
So why is the new Hyundai Verna the most preferred sedan over its rivals? Let us find out.
Most Powerful Sedan In Its Class
The new Verna is available in both petrol and diesel versions, which is powered by 1.6-litre four-cylinder engines. The Honda City is also available in both petrol and diesel but is powered by 1.5-litre units, while the Maruti Ciaz is available in 1.4-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines.
While the Honda City and the Maruti Ciaz is available with an automatic gearbox for the petrol model, the Hyundai Verna is available with an automatic gearbox in both petrol and diesel models.

Safety Features
All the three sedans come equipped with dual front airbags as a standard feature, only the new Verna and the City come with the option of six airbags.
To assist with reverse parking, the Hyundai Verna and the Maruti Ciaz feature reverse parking sensor and camera; however, the Honda City is available only with reverse parking camera assist.
First-in-Segment Features
The newly launched Verna comes with several first-in-segment features such as Hands-free Boot lid release, projector fog lamps, cooled seats, and eco coating with the Auto AC.

Hyundai has packaged the all-new Verna with features over above its competitors. Also, the new Verna's pricing undercuts its closest rival Honda City by nearly Rs 1 lakh for the top variant. The new Verna seems to have regained its top spot to take the crown as the segment leader in the Indian market.
