2017 Hyundai Verna launched in Bangalore. Prices for the next-gen Hyundai Verna in Bangalore start at Rs 7.99 lakh ex-showroom (Bangalore).

The all-new Hyundai Verna is the fifth generation of Hyundai's executive sedan to bear the name and the third generation of the car to enter India.

The new Hyundai Verna is available in both petrol and diesel guises and both engine options are available with both manual and automatic gearboxes. Both petrol and diesel models are available in 6 different variants.

The new Hyundai Verna is being offered with three years/ unlimited kilometres warranty along with three years of roadside assistance. Owners will also get three updates to the maps for the navigation system.

New Hyundai Verna Specifications & Mileage

The 2017 Hyundai Verna is available with two engine options — 1.6-litre petrol & diesel — both of which are available with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The 1.6-litre petrol engine produces 121bhp at 6,400rpm and 151Nm of torque at 4,850rpm. The petrol 2017 Hyundai Verna returns a mileage of 17.7kpl.

The diesel version of the new Hyundai Verna uses a 1.6-litre engine that kicks out 126bhp at 4,000rpm and 260Nm of torque at 1,500 - 3,000rpm. The diesel version of the 2017 Hyundai Verna returns a mileage of 24.76kpl.

The Hyundai Verna is 4,440mm long, 1,729mm wide, 1,465mm tall, and has a 2,600mm long wheelbase. The new Verna has an unladen ground clearance of 165mm.

2017 Hyundai Verna Design, Features & Safety

The fifth generation Hyundai Verna gets a sporty and aggressive new look. Up front swept back projector headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights flank Hyundai's signature cascading grille which features chromed out horizontal slats and surrounds.

The new Verna sports a coupe-inspired silhouette thanks to a sloping roofline on which sits a shark-fin antenna. The chrome belt line adds to the premium feel of the sedan and the new Verna sits on 16-inch diamond cut 5-spoke alloy wheels.

At the rear, the 2017 Hyundai Verna sports two-piece LED tail lights, a dual-tone bumper and owners can also opt for an extra dash of chrome for the boot lid as well. The 480-litre boot automatically opens if it detects a person standing within a distance of 1 metre behind it with the smart key for more than the three seconds. The Verna is the first car in the segment to sport the feature.

The new Hyundai Verna is available in 7 different exterior colour options: Polar White, Sleek Silver, Star Dust, Sierra Brown, Flame Orange, Fiery Red, and Phantom Black.

Inside, the new Verna sports a dual-tone black and beige theme. The seats are draped in leather upholstery and the ventilated front seats are another first-in-class feature on the Verna. Another new feature comes in the form of Hyundai's Eco coating technology which prevents any bad odours from developing in the car's A/C system.

The Hyundai Verna sports either a 5 or 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system depending on the variant. The 7-inch infotainment display gets Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & Smart Link connectivity along with Voice controls. The Verna also gets a 6-speaker Arkamys audio system.

Other features on the 2017 Verna include Cruise Control, a rear curtain, push-button start, electric sunroof and rear parking sensors.

All variants of the new Hyundai Verna get two airbags along with ABS and EBD as standard. The top-spec SX (O) variants of the 2017 Hyundai Verna get six airbags as standard.
