Hyundai Tucson Might Receive High-Performance N Treatment
Hyundai Tucson and the upcoming Kona SUV tipped to get high-performance treatment through its N Division.
Hyundai might not be known for its high-performance vehicles, but that could change if the company's N division's boss Albert Biermann has his way.

Hyundai is readying the i30 N hot hatch, and that could be the beginning of an era for the South Korean company. Speaking to Drive, Biermann said there were "no limitations" and that the i30 N would be the first high-performance Hyundai and there are many to follow.

Among the models to receive high-performance N treatment shortly will be the coupe version of the i30 and the all-new Veloster. However, the most important point of this article, he strongly hinted at a performance version of the Tucson SUV. He went on to say it was a good platform "to make a high-performance SUV."

With the automobile market flocking to opt for SUVs and Crossovers, the Hyundai Tucson high-performance N treatment should fit into one's requirement.

As of now, it is only a thought, and the company will first evaluate the performance regarding sales of the i30 hot hatch which will be launched later this year.

For India, this could be a welcome choice as there are any in this price bracket of Tucson SUV with high-performance. Hyundai might first test waters in international market before it can look at India.

The Hyundai Tucson in India is available in both petrol and diesel models. Both the models are 2.0-litre engines, while the petrol unit churns out 153bhp and 192Nm of torque, the diesel unit produces 183bhp and 400Nm of torque.

Both the petrol and diesel models come mated to either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
