Hyundai is all set to reveal the Kona compact SUV, ahead of that the vehicle was spotted undisguised.
South Korean car maker Hyundai is all set to reveal its new compact SUV, the Kona. Ahead of that the new SUV was spotted undisguised.
Carscoops has spotted the Hyundai Kona in Madrid's city centre. The compact SUV was filming a press kit video. The shooting was done using Mercedes-Benz cars to block the traffic.
The front end of the Hyundai Kona features cascading grille, twin headlamp setup and LED DRLs above the headlamps. The overall design looks fresh and funky at the same time.
The rear profile of the new compact SUV is a blend of design cues borrowed from the bigger SUV, the Tucson. The rear end features bold styling and twin tail light setup.
Underneath the bodywork, the new Hyundai Kona is equipped with the parts of i20 and i30. The company has also stated that an all-wheel-drive system will also be offered with the compact SUV.
The engine options on the new Kona include a 1-litre and 1.4-litre turbocharged engine. Both the engines are deployed in the i20 and i30 models with the option of diesel motors.
The interior of the Kona will follow the design of Hyundai's latest models. The Kona is set to make its global debut on June 13, 2017. The compact SUV will rival the likes of Renault Captur, Nissan Juke and yet to be launched Volkswagen T-Roc.
