Hyundai i20 Facelift Spotted Testing In India
Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) is gearing up to debut the facelifted Elite i20 premium hatchback in India. The i20 facelift model is expected to be revealed at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo in Delhi.
Ahead of its reveal, the Hyundai i20 facelift was spotted testing in the city of Chennai in Tamil Nadu revealing a host of upgrades and new features.
While the company has updated the Grand i10 and the Xcent sub-compact sedan as well as launched the next-generation Verna in India, the i20 is yet to receive an update. The recently spotted test mule of the facelifted i20 by Team-BHP offers a glimpse of the new upgrades to the i20 facelift model.

Following its sibling's design language, the Hyundai i20 facelift will sport the cascading front grille, but instead of the horizontal chrome slats, the hatchback continues with the honeycomb pattern.
The elements of the headlamps have been reworked and will come with LED daytime running lights. Also seen is the revised design of the front bumper which houses a new and significant fog lamp housing.
The hatchback is also seen with a new darker set of alloy wheels, while the previous instance revealed the i20 with dual tone diamond cut alloys, suggesting that Hyundai could offer different alloy wheel options to buyers.
Also, the ORVMs are the same but now is integrated with turn signal indicators. As for the rear profile, not much can be seen from the spy pics of the i20 facelift, but it is safe to say that the bumper will be revised and the taillight cluster will be restyled as well.
The Hyundai i20 facelift test mule does not reveal the interiors, but it likely that Hyundai will offer a revised dashboard and upholstery. Additionally, like its rivals, the i20 facelift is expected to come with features such an updated touchscreen infotainment system along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
As for the engine specifications of the Hyundai i20 facelift, we do not expect any changes. The facelifted Hyundai i20 will continue to be powered by the 1.2-litre Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine churning out 82bhp paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and the 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine developing 89bhp mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The hatchback is also available with a more powerful 99 bhp 1.4-litre dual VTVT petrol engine married to a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
