Hyundai i20 Facelift Debut Details Revealed
Hyundai is all set to introduce the i20 facelift in the Indian market.
South Korean automaker Hyundai is all set to introduce the updated iteration of the i20 hatchback in India. The company has commenced testing the new i20 in the country.
Now, Autocar India reports that the Hyundai i20 facelift will make its India debut at the 2018 Auto Expo in February.
The facelifted Hyundai i20 will mainly feature cosmetic updates in the form of the new design theme. The updated hatchback will be similar to the recently launched models such as the new Verna and the Xcent compact sedan.
The front fascia of the new i20 will feature a single-piece cascade grille instead of the two-grille design of the currently sold model. The headlights and the front bumper will be tweaked to give the car a new look.

On the side profile, the i20 is likely to remain unchanged except for the newly designed alloy wheels. The rear of the hatchback will also feature subtle changes in the form of new tail lamp cluster with LED inserts and revamped tailgate.
On the interior, the new i20 will share the interior design of the new Verna which also includes the updated touchscreen infotainment system. Hyundai might also offer few additional features to add to the premium feel of the hatchback.
The new i20 facelift is likely to draw power from the existing 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox on the 1.2-litre petrol engine, 6-speed manual gearbox on the 1.4-litre diesel engine and an automatic gearbox on the 1.4-litre petrol engine.

The i20 has been a successful hatchback for the Korean automaker in the Indian market. Hyundai has not hampered much with the overall design of the car and has only tweaked certain design elements to keep the car fresh as compared to its rival. The i20 facelift will lock horns with the likes of Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz and the upcoming premium hatchback from Tata Motors.
