Honda has released a teaser image for its upcoming Urban EV Concept which the Japanese carmaker says will influence a production model in the coming years.
The Honda Urban EV Concept car will make its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show which begins in the second week of September. While no details have been revealed about the car, the name does suggest that the concept could be an EV the size of a city car.
The teaser image itself does not reveal much about the car and features a dot-matrix display with the Honda logo front and centre flanked by the battery icon on one side and the other side showing the charge available along with the charging status of the vehicle.
Honda has not revealed when the new production car based on the Urban EV Concept will enter production but the carmaker does plan to have two-thirds of its fleet feature some sort of electrification by the year 2030.
Honda is keeping its cards quite close to its chest with its new electric concept for Frankfurt but the move towards electrification does show that the Japanese carmaker is ready to take the fight for electric mobility to its rivals as the EV war heats up.
