Honda Mobilio Short Stint In India Comes To An End
Honda Cars India has removed the Mobilio from its official website in India.
A product which Honda Cars India expected to position itself as a mass-market leader, the Mobilio was launched with much fanfare to take on the MPV segment.
However, the short stint in India, the Mobilio has been officially discontinued. The Mobilio has been taken off from the manufacturer's official website altogether.
Launched in 2014, the Honda Mobilio didn't leave a mark in the Indian auto industry. The MPV did not even complete two years in India. Honda is yet to confirm discontinuing the Mobilio in India officially.
The Honda Mobilio was underpinned by the same platform as the Brio hatchback and to rival the Maruti Ertiga; the Mobilio didn't help the carmaker. Honda even tried to impress buyers with an RS variant, but that didn't seem to invoke any positive response from Indian customers.
Earlier this year, Honda said that it would concentrate on premium segment rather than mass-market segment when it launched the facelifted Honda City. It even launched the crossover version of the Jazz, the WR-V hoping to create a niche for itself in the premium segment.

It comes as no surprise about the discontinuation of the Honda Mobilio. The only concern is about existing Mobilio owners and how Honda will continue to support them regarding service and spares.
