Manic Production Spec Honda Civic Type R Leaked Ahead Of Geneva Motor Show Debut
The new Honda Civic Type R photos have surfaced before the carmaker’s official debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
The upcoming Geneva Motor Show is a much-anticipated event for car enthusiasts and manufacturers, as there is a host of new cars and concepts that will be displayed. One of them is the Honda Civic Type R hot hatch, which is to make an official debut.

But pictures of the what looks like the production-spec version of the Honda Civic Type R has surfaced already and looks close to the concept showcased last year at the Paris Motor Show.

The images that have surfaced of the new Honda Civic Type R features a similar design, such as the aggressive aerodynamics of the car and the triple exhausts at the rear. Minor changes, however, are visible like the chrome exhaust, while the prototype featured red accents on the tip of the tail pipe.

For the upcoming Honda Civic type R, the Japanese carmaker has already confirmed a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine but has not revealed any performance figures. The engine will come paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox that will highlight the fun factor for enthusiasts.

The production of the new Honda Civic Type R will begin later this year at Honda's manufacturing plant in Swindon, UK. Speaking of hot hatches, the Volkswagen Polo GTI is another capable performance-oriented hatchback, pictured in the image gallery below.
