First-ever implementation of Wireless Apple CarPlay will debut in the BMW 5 Series
American electronics manufacturer Harman has revealed the first ever wireless implementation of Apple CarPlay in their infotainment systems for cars.
The new wireless Apple CarPlay system from Harman will step into the spotlight for the first time in the new BMW 5 Series sedan which debuted at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
The new system from Harman allows iPhone users to pair their devices with the help of Bluetooth and wifi. Once paired, the system will mirror the phone's functions on the car's infotainment display.
Wireless Apple CarPlay allows users to operate the vehicle's in-car entertainment system along and allows calls, music playback, navigation and other iPhone features directly from the car's display without connecting their device with a wire to the car.
