General Motors Produces 130 Self-Driving Electric Cars

American automaker General Motors has stated that it has produced 130 self-driving Chevrolet Bolt electric cars.

American auto major General Motors has stated that it has produced 130 self-driving Chevrolet Bolt electric cars.

The Chevrolet Bolt electric cars were manufactured at the company's Detroit plant. The Bolt is equipped with GM's second-generation self-driving software and equipment.

General Motors Produces 130 Self-Driving Electric Bolts

General Motors is already testing 50 self-driving Chevrolet Bolt's in San Francisco; Scottsdale, Arizona and Detroit. The newly manufactured cars will join the testing program.

General Motors CEO, Mary Barra said that GM is the very first manufacturer to assemble self-driving cars in a mass production facility. The company was manufacturing self-driving cars since January at its Orion Assembly Plant.

Barra also said that the company plans to deploy the self-driving Bolt's in ride-hailing fleets in the US. She stated that the new vehicles would help the company to accelerate its testing in city environments.
