Ford Recalls India-Made Figo And Ikon In South Africa
American automaker Ford has recalled the India-made Figo and Ikon in South Africa.
American automaker Ford Motor Co has recalled nearly 16,000 India-made Figo and Ikon models in South Africa. The recall has been issued due to a potential fire risk.
The affected models are manufactured between 2004 and 2012 in India. The statement read, "A power steering fluid leak could result in fumes being emitted from the engine compartment."

The statement further read, "It may also be possible for power steering fluid to come into contact with the vehicle's exhaust system components, creating the potential for smoke and, in extreme cases, fire."
Earlier this year, Ford South Africa had recalled around 4,500 Kuga SUVs after several reports of the SUV catching fire.

DriveSpark Thinks!
Globally, if any defect is found on any vehicle, the manufacturer will immediately issue a recall. But in India, it's not followed strictly. And the manufacturers should focus on the safety of the occupants and try to avoid such mistakes which pose a threat to the owner.
