Ford Improves Mustang’s Euro NCAP Safety Ratings
The Euro NCAP test results have now revealed that the Ford Mustang has scored 3-stars, 1-star better than the previous score of 2-stars, which it got when it was tested in January.
The Ford Mustang recently went through crash tests at Thatcham Research, the Euro NCAP centre in the United Kingdom. The muscle car scored a 3-star rating, which is of course not considered to be the best in safety but is definitely an improvement.
Safety in cars is being taken very seriously in this time and age, and all manufacturers give their best to achieve the 5-star rating. Earlier this year, when Ford was set to launch the Mustang in right-hand-driven European countries, the Mustang went through the Euro NCAP crash tests for the first time.

The safety performance of the car was appalling, as the muscle car scored just 2-stars during the testing. Ford's decision to omit certain features from cars sold in Europe could have contributed to the poor performance. However, Ford has come back now and has improved the safety rating by 1-star, only in a few months' time.
Ford now sells the Mustang with forward collision warning, pedestrian detection system, autonomous emergency braking, as well as a lane-keeping assistance system as standard features. This, along with rectifying the issue with the driver's airbag has helped Ford to gain that additional star rating.

The improvement does show Ford's commitment to offering safe cars. However, the 3-star rating still remains a low score.
DriveSpark Thinks!
People have been following the Euro NCAP safety ratings very closely, and over the years, it has been found that people buy those cars which have obtained a higher safety rating from the Euro NCAP. All car manufacturers should now give safety the highest priority if they want to sell more cars.
