Ford Electric SUV To Debut By 2020
Ford is all set to unveil a full electric SUV by 2020 with a range of 400km.
A full year before Ford Motor Co. unveils its autonomous driving concept car; the American company will debut a full electric SUV by 2020.
The electric SUV from Ford will come with a range of 400km, and the model is expected to be priced in the affordable range.

Ford has hinted that for volumes to grow on electric vehicle segment it will have to build cars which are affordable so that it can reach mass market audience.

The new Ford electric SUV is supposed to be the first vehicle in the line of vehicles which will also be the base for future autonomous concepts.

The electric Ford SUV will also be the base for vehicles for ride sharing programs, which the company has heavily invested in.

Ford has hinted at a range of around 485km for this electric SUV, but it is now believed to have exceeded even that range. This range is equivalent to a B-segment diesel hatchback that can offer on a full tank today.

It is unclear if Ford will utilise an existing SUV to convert it into an all-electric vehicle or if it will be an all-new vehicle. Ford has not confirmed the details, though we can expect the electric SUV to be affordable with a good range.
