Ford EcoSport Facelift Set To Dazzle In Frankfurt Ahead Of India Launch

The new 2017 Ford EcoSport is expected to enter India ahead of the upcoming Dussehra-Diwali festive season. However, before it hits Indian roads, the new 2017 Ford EcoSport will make its way to the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show for its European debut. The EcoSport features a tweaked exterior design, revised interiors, and a more powerful diesel engine.

Speaking of power, the EcoSport comes with three engine options: a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol and turbocharged 1.5-l-litre petrol and diesel engines. The diesel engine has been updated so that. The upgraded engine cranks out 99bhp and 204mm of torque, up 9bhp and 1Nm of torque compared to the previous gen SUV.

The biggest cosmetic changes in the EcoSport facelift can be seen up front, where he compact SUV sports a new face. The old split grille has been dumped for a larger single piece unit more in line with the rest of Ford's lineup along with new headlamps that look similar to the Mustang, shrunken down to size. The changes at rear, include the ditching of the mounted spare wheel and a new bumper.

Inside, the new EcoSport gets the latest Ford Sync 3 infotainment system, revised switchgear, aluminium trim pieces and a height adjustable boot floor.

The European-spec EcoSport also gets a new ST-Line trim which adds visual tweaks including larger wheels, ST-Line badges and a leather interior as standard.

The Ford EcoSport will make its European debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show just a few days before it hits Indian shores. The Euro-spec model will allow us to see for ourselves just what cost cutting does to a car when it comes to India and while we can't expect every new feature to come to the country we expect Ford to keep up its track record with regards to safety, though we do wish we too could get all-wheel-drive.
