Ford EcoSport Facelift India Launch Date Revealed

The prominent changes to the exterior design are concentrated on the front end. The refreshed compact SUV features new chrome line single piece grille, broader headlamps and bigger and repositioned fog lamps.

Projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights will be offered on the top-of-the-range models. The rear of the new EcoSport gets new wheel cover for the tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

Apart from that the exterior of the EcoSport facelift features black headlamp inserts, dual-tone colour options and new alloy wheel. The new Titanium S trim gets the new 17-inch alloy wheels.

The interior of the EcoSport facelift sports redesigned centre console with a new floating touchscreen infotainment system with Ford's SYNC3 software, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The changes to the interior also include new instrument cluster and steering wheel.

The new Dragon series petrol engine will make its India debut with the updated EcoSport. The 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine produces 121bhp. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. Other engine options include the existing 1.5-litre diesel engine and Ford could also offer the popular 1-litre EcoBoost engine.

The Ford EcoSport desperately needed an update to cope up with the competition in the Indian market. The refreshed compact SUV is likely to be priced in the range of Rs 7 lakh to Rs 11 lakh ex-showroom. The new EcoSport will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and recently launched Tata Nexon.
