Ford revealed the facelifted EcoSport at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. The updated compact SUV features new front fascia and updated rear end.
The facelifted EcoSport features single piece hexagonal front grille, larger headlamps, redesigned front bumper and LED daytime running lights. The new EcoSport is likely to get newly designed alloy wheels.
The overall layout of the interior will be identical to the currently sold model, but the facelifted EcoSport will sport additional features and extra safety equipment.
The EcoSport facelift will draw power from the existing 1.5-litre petrol and turbocharged diesel and a 1-litre Ecoboost engine. The petrol motor churns out 110bhp and 140Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The diesel engine pumps out 99bhp and 205Nm of torque coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1-litre Ecoboost engine produces 124bhp and 170Nm of torque.
The Ford EcoSport was launched in 2013, and the compact SUV needed an update. Currently, the compact SUV segment is dominated by Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Now with the updated EcoSport, Ford will try to tap into the growing utility vehicle segment.
