Force India Formula One team has stated that it will oppose any form of cooperation between Mercedes and Honda.

As per recent reports, the silver arrow team has opened talks with the Japanese manufacturer to see if there is any scope for assistance. Mercedes wants to help Honda to overcome its performance and reliability issues.

But no final decision has been taken on this matter. At this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix, Force India who is a Mercedes customer, expressed its opposition to such a partnership.

Force India Deputy Team Principal, Bob Fernley said, "As a team obviously that has not only paid for its engines, but contributed to the development of them, I would certainly be very negative with sharing that technology with another team that is a competitor."

Mercedes Formula One team boss, Toto Wolff declined to reveal the progress of the talks with Honda. But he confirmed that nothing had been finalised yet.Wolff said, "We are not doing anything for Honda, that is the current status quo."

Wolff refused to comment on the deal as nothing much has happened till now. He said that he doesn't want to contribute to the rumours that are false and damaging for Honda. He also stated that Honda would get the issues fixed and will get back to business in the championship.
