Around The World In 133 Days — In A Fiat Tipo
A Fiat Tipo was driven around the world in 133 days by a Turkish journalist to prove the car’s reliability.
Generally, the quality or reliability of a car is checked by people in white overcoats wearing glasses. Fiat however, wanted to prove the reliability of the Tipo sedan, and handed a car over to a Turkish Journalist to be driven around the world.

On August 13, Okan Altan set off on a journey in a standard version of a Fiat Tipo, finishing leg one that comprised driving through countries such as Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and Ukraine, before entering Russia.

After completing the Trans-Siberian highway, having travelled 11 hours a day for 8 days, the Fiat Tipo reached Japan, where it had to get ready for its next Journey — Mexico. The sedan was with held for 11 days before entering the country.

After a 40 day boat trip, the Fiat Tipo was back on European soil, ready to cross 14 countries including including the Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy, before entering Turkey again.

By the end of the around the world journey, the Tipo had covered 22 countries, 122 cities, and 41,000km, in a span of 133 days. The only work the Tipo underwent was regular servicing and tyre replacement after suffering two punctures.

Speaking of reliability, the Tipo did prove itself, but if you are not a Fiat fan, perhaps a Toyota will help. Do take a minute to go through the image gallery.
