Ferrari's New Hypercar Expected To Arrive In 3 To 5 Years
The LaFerrari's limited-edition replacement is set to be revealed in 3 to 5 years, and it won't have an F1 engine; however, it will boast of fresh innovations.
Ferrari has confirmed that its next-generation hypercar, LaFerrari replacement, is set to arrive in three to five years, a few years earlier than initially expected.

Ferrari's chief technology officer Michael Leiters revealed the news to Autocar while confirming that the new hypercar won't be powered by a Formula One engine, notwithstanding AMG's next hypercar set to do just that.

"When we define our new roadmap of technology and innovation, we will then consider a replacement for LaFerrari," said Leiters.

He added, "We want to do something different. It won't be a road car with a Formula 1 engine because, to be realistic, it would need to idle at 2500-3000rpm and rev to 16,000rpm. The F50 used an F1 engine, but it needed to be changed a lot," he said of the limited-edition successor to the F40.

This means that we'll have to wait until 2022 at the latest for Ferrari to launch its next hypercar. It has been nine years since the LaFerrari was launched, which arrived 11 years after the Enzo.

We're sure whatever Ferrari dreams up, it will be nothing short of remarkable. Whatever decision Ferrari takes with its hypercar, it won't have to worry about Porsche or McLaren.

Ferrari would not like to be left behind with Aston Martin, and Mercedes-AMG is vowing to push the hypercar market to new horizons with their hybrid offerings.
