Porsche Dents Alonso's Triple Crown Aims; Shuts Door On Le Mans Bid
Fernando Alonso’s Le Mans entry “not on the table” says Andreas Seidl, the LMP1 Team Principal.
Reports surfaced saying Formula One driver Fernando Alonso could be racing at Le Mans next year with Porsche. Now, Andreas Seidl, the LMP1 Team Principal, has said, "At the moment it's not on the table".

Seidl said: We only have two cars, and I do not see that changing for next year. With the six drivers we have, we are very very happy. And we plan long-term. So at the moment, it is not something that is on the table. The topic is not available."

"It would have been easier in 2015 with the third car. We had talks there, but it didn't work out in the end. As I said at the moment, there are no options available. We have six drivers that are very well in the contract. We plan long-term, always."

Alonso has been looking at opportunities to drive at Le Mans since 2014. Earlier reports said that Alonso was in talks with Porsche for a Le Mans entry in 2018.
