Skoda Octavia Facelift Production Begins; India Launch This Year
Skoda has started production of the facelifted Octavia, which will have cosmetic changes, and new connectivity options.
Skoda has started production of the facelift Octavia in its main plant in the Czech Republic. The facelifted version will feature cosmetic changes, along with other interior features.
To start with, the Octavia facelift will have a newly designed front and rear section, along with full LED headlights housed in a new design.
The Octavia will have better safety features and comfort, along with other innovative solutions and new connectivity options. The sedan will feature Skoda Connect mobile online services used for information, navigation and remote access to the car.
In terms of power, Skoda is expected to retain the same engines that currently power the car, a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that makes 148bhp and 250Nm of torque, a 1.8-litre turbocharged engine that produces 177bhp and 250Nm of torque, and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that makes 141bhp and 320Nm of torque.
The facelifted Skoda Octavia will be sold with a choice of either a manual, automatic, or a DSG gearbox. The new Skoda Octavia is expected to be launched in India later this year. Also, Skoda will debut the Octavia vRS 245, the most powerful Octavia at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
