Tesla boss Elon Musk has finally revealed the first production version of the Model 3. Musk tweeted the photos of the much-anticipated car on July 9, 2017.
The Tesla Model 3 is offered in a five-seater configuration and has a range of 346km on a single charge. The electric car can sprint from 0-100km/h in under six seconds.
The Model 3 is affordable as opposed to the other Tesla cars, but the customers have to wait for months before they can drive the car. But the first 30 owners will get their hands on the car on July 28, 2017.
In the US market, the Model 3 is priced at 35,000 dollars (approximately Rs 22.58 lakh). The federal tax credit for electric vehicles will reduce the price to 27,500 dollars (approximately Rs 17.74 lakh).
The production of the Model 3 will be ramped up to 100 units in August 2017, and another 1,500 cars will be manufactured in September 2017. Musk also stated that the Model 3 is a much simpler car compared to other models.
