Tesla Bags Order For 200 Vehicles From Dubai
The Dubai Road And Transport Authority has signed an agreement with Tesla to buy 200 electric cars.
American electric carmaker Tesla will receive an order for 200 vehicles from the Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA), after the carmaker announced that the company's first Middle East office would be open in Dubai.
The Dubai RTA is buying Model S sedans and Model X SUVs to be used by the Dubai Taxi Corporation, which operates taxis in the emirate.
According to a statement, Tesla's Founder, Elon Musk and Mattar Al Tayer, the Chairman of the Dubai Road and Transport Authority signed an agreement to buy the cars during a summit in Dubai.
The announcement for opening Tesla's first Middle East office in Dubai was also made during the Summit by Elon Musk.
