DS Introduces Contactless Payment Car Key
DS Automobiles has introduced the contactless payment technology in the key of its 3 Connected Chic model.
French automaker DS Automobiles has introduced the contactless payment technology in the key fob of its 3 Connected Chic model.
The contactless payment car key is similar to the contactless payment cards. The key fob will be linked to the user's bank account which will be limited to spend worth £30 (approximately Rs 2,400) per day. Click here for more details.
The customers of the new DS 3 Connected Chic model will receive the new key with the contactless payment technology at no extra cost. Money can be transferred to the key through a smartphone app called as bPay.
The bPay app also allows to setup an automatic top up from a debit card or a credit card when the balance is lower than set parameters. The payment made through the key works similar to the contactless card transactions.

DS Automobiles is focussing on the new technology and customer lifestyle. The automaker hopes that the innovations such as the contactless payment key will lure more customers looking for a stylish car with a host of modern features and technology.
Marketing Director at DS Automobiles UK, Mark Blundell said; "At DS we're always looking at how we can credibly complement our customer's active lifestyles, where staying connected and being able to easily interact with the world is key."
Apart from the contactless payment technology, the DS 3 Connected Chic features 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MirrorLink and Apple Carplay. The car is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, sat-nav and air conditioning.
