The Go Cross was showcased by the Datsun as a concept at the 2016 Auto Expo. The car enthusiasts were happy with Datsun's concept at that time and this motivated the low-cost brand to develop it at a faster pace.
The latest information that is on the internet is that the Go Cross will be launched by mid-2017 after it's parent company Nissan launches the X-Trail Hybrid. Nissan will launch the X-Trail Hybrid by April this year.
The Go Cross will likely get two engine options: a 1.2- and a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel. These two engines would be shared from the Nissan Micra.
Outside, the GO Cross concept has boxy design and is featured with a hexagonal front grille, swept back LED headlights, a protruding skid plate, and thick plastic cladding.
The fourth offering from Datsun will compete against the likes of yet-to-launch Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Hyundai Active i20 and Toyota Etios Cross. We can expect Datsun to price the Go Cross around Rs 5 lakh, which will make it a value for money competitor.
