Fuel Prices To Be Revised Daily: Petrol Station Owners Threaten Strike
Petrol station owners are threatening to strike an not buy fuel if outlets are not being automated.
Effective June 16, fuel prices will be revised on a daily basis, enabling customers to adjust with fuel price revision easily. Now, petrol station owners are threatening to strike.
Petrol pump owners are now threatening to not buy fuel from June 16 onwards if fuel outlets are not automated first.

The decision to revise fuel prices on a daily basis was taken to sync international crude oil prices. Currently, fuel prices are revised every fortnight. The government decided that the daily revision of prices will help customers adjust to fuel price revisions better.

Daily fuel price revision was implemented in five cities — Chandigarh, Udaipur, Jamshedpur, Puducherry and Visakhapatnam, as a pilot project. Three oil companies followed the new plan in over 200 outlets across these five cities.

Fuel station owners are demanding that outlets must be automated before the new plan is implemented, saying that manual price administration will lead to trouble.
