Chevrolet recently dropped an explosive news saying it's pulling out of India, owing to weak demand. This decision directly affects production. Customers who were eager to buy the next generation Chevrolet Beat and the Essentia will now have to give up hopes.
The Chevrolet Beat and Essentia compact sedan will be made in India, but will not be sold in the country. Instead, the cars made here will be exported. The Beat Activ, the crossover version of the Beat hatchback will also not make it to the Indian market.
The Chevrolet Beat Essentia is a compact sedan that was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in hopes to capture some market share for the American carmaker in India.
The cars will continue to be manufactured in Chevrolet's Talegaon facility and will be exported to Mexico, Central and South American markets. The carmaker has already launched the new Beat outside India, and the Essentia will be the next car.
The next generation Beat received major updates than a mere facelift, which includes premium interiors and Chevrolet's MyLink touchscreen infotainment system.
