BMW X7 iPerformance Concept Revealed
BMW X7 iPerformance Concept Revealed. The X7 is the largest SUV from BMW till date.
BMW has unveiled its largest SUV yet in the form of the X7 iPerformance Concept. The BMW X7 iPerformance concept SUV will make its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, next week and previews a production model set to appear in 2018.
The BMW X7 iPerformance is the first BMW to feature seven seats and every major highlight of its design is exaggerated including the frankly massive (and awful) kidney grille, led headlights, air intakes up front and the air vents behind the front wheel arches and the humongous 23-inch alloys. Thankfully, the exaggerated bits are expected to be toned down in the production X7.
The new X7 concept also features a large glasshouse along with steeply raked rear tailgate.
On the inside there are three rows of two seats which will seat six people. However, the production SUV will be a 7-seater. The digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system are linked together and the switchgear is minimal to say the least.
The BMW X7 iPerformance Concept is 5,020mm long, 2,020mm wide and 1,800mm in height while the wheelbase is 3,010mm long. The dimensions of the production SUV aren't expected to change much when production of the X7 start at BMW's Spartanburg manufacturing facility in South Carolina, USA next year.
Not much is known about the hybrid setup that powers the BMW X7 iPerformance though considering that the SUV will share its platform with the current 7 Series, it could get the same setup found on the hybrid 7 series variant. The production SUV will sport the hybrid setup along with the usual array of six and eight-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. No news yet on the V12 from the 760Li.
