BMW 8 Series Concept Revealed
German carmaker BMW has revealed the 8 Series Concept at the 2017 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.

The BMW 8 Series Coupe will hit the roads in 2018. BMW plans to boost the sales and revenue in the luxury car segment. The 8 Series concept with its edgy design will play a vital role in reaching the goal.

The front fascia of the 8 Series Concept features large kidney grille, slim twin laser headlamps and large air intakes. The side profile is neatly designed with the flowing roofline and flared wheel arches.

The rear of the concept model features L-shaped tail lights, trapezoidal exhaust pipes and carbon fibre diffuser. The concept model is shod with 21-inch light alloy wheels.

The interior of the 8 Series Concept is equipped with carbon-fibre shell sports seats, steering wheel with aluminium spokes and iDrive controller made out of Swarovski glass.

Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Harald Kruger said, "The number 8 has always represented the pinnacle of sports performance and exclusivity at BMW. This will be the next model in the expansion of our luxury-car offering and will raise the benchmark for coupes in the segment."

BMW has not revealed the technical specifications of the 8 Series Concept. The production variant of the 8 Series Coupe is likely to draw power from a 6.6-litre V12 engine. A more powerful M variant will be produced equipped with a V8 engine.

Senior Vice President BMW Group Design, Adrian van Hooydonk said, "The BMW Concept 8 Series is our take on a full-blooded high-end driving machine. It is a luxurious sports car which embodies both unadulterated dynamics and modern luxury like arguably no other."

He added, "The design of the BMW Concept 8 Series provides a fresh interpretation of iconic BMW styling cues. And it also showcases a new approach to the use of forms which is reflected particularly prominently in the car's surfacing."
