BMW 8 Series Teased Ahead Of Its Return
BMW has teased the 8 Series coupe concept which will replace the 6 Series and will be the flagship coupe from the Bavarians.
BMW has released the first image teaser of the 8 Series Coupe Concept at its Annual General Meeting on May 11, 2017, in Munich.

BMW will preview with a concept at this month's 2017 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa D'Este on the shores of Lake Como, Italy. Back in the 1990s, the BMW 8 Series was one of the coolest looking coupes with its pop-up headlights and car phone.

As per the Bavarians the 8 Series design 'embodies uncompromising dynamics and contemporary luxury.' The teaser of the BMW 8 Series shows a long nose of the car and the sloping roofline.

The chunky and chiselled rear fender gives the 8 Series coupe its distinct look and identity.
"The 8 Series Coupe will underpin our claim to leadership in the luxury segment. I can tell you today that this will be a true luxury sports coupe," said Harald Krüger, chairman of BMW's board of management.

The company has already trademarked the names 850, 860, M860, and M8; this gives you an impression of what BMW have in mind for the 8 Series.

The BMW 8 Series will have one very clear rival, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe, which is offered in both luxury and performance trims.

If BMW opts to acquire powertrains from its flagship sedan; the 8 Series could be powered from a range of engines: a 2.0-litre I4 to the 6.6-litre V12 seen in the M760Li.
We'll bring you all the details as soon as the car is unveiled in Italy on May 26, 2017.
