Bentley May Lose Its British Identity
Bentley Chief Executive, Wolfgang Durheimer revealed that the company is planning to move production outside of Britain if required.
British luxury car manufacturer Bentley Motors Limited could move production from Britain if required. This information was revealed by Chief Executive of the company, Wolfgang Durheimer.

The British car manufacturer currently builds all of its vehicles in the central English town of Crewe. But while speaking to Reuters, Durheimer stated that discussions are held with British officials about the decision of leaving the European Union.

Durheimer said, "I have about nine to 12 months where I can wait and see what's going to happen and then I need to take serious decisions. It's all connected to future models."

He further said, "This gives us a bit of breathing space, and also the government, but then I need to have clear commitments."

Like many other automakers, Bentley is worried about the potential trade barriers that could be established after Brexit and the company stated that it would consider manufacturing its vehicles somewhere else.

Commenting on the issue, Durheimer added, "It's the Britishness that makes us very unique but we know from... different car brands that this business is a very international one and before we would not produce any Bentleys anymore, we would produce them somewhere else."
