Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A Sets Record Sales In 2016; Two Huracan Variants Confirmed For 2017
Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A continues to find new customers across the globe.
Exotic car manufacturer Lamborghini has announced its sales figure for the year 2016. The manufacturer has confirmed that it was able to find new customers globally and recorded the best sales year ever.
The marque was able to sell 3,457 cars globally and it's the first time, the Sant'Agata Bolognese-based manufacturer's sales surpassed the 3,400 units mark. The company witnessed a 7 percent growth compared to the year before, making it the sixth consecutive year of growth.
Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. said, "In 2016 Lamborghini has proven to be in excellent shape. The company delivered another record year in terms of sales and continued to outperform key business objectives.
"This new all-time high is once more confirming the substance and sustainability of our brand, product and commercial strategy. This is a real team achievement and it is more remarkable as we are at the same time preparing not only for new models in our super sports car range but for a company-wide quantum leap in our product portfolio - the third model line."
Currently, the exotic manufacturer has 135 dealers in 50 countries around the globe. The deliveries of the supercars increased from 3,245 to 3,457 units in 2016. The sales of the Italian marque was well-balanced among the three main regions, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), America and Asia Pacific.
All the three markets contributed for approximately one-third of the global sales figure. Interestingly, all three markets set new records in 2016. But still, America is the biggest single market for the raging bulls with 1,041 units delivered to customers last year.
Huracan is the most affordable Lamborghini out there in the market and the model found 2,353 customers in both Coupe and Spyder versions. Huracan stable will get two new ponies next year, the Huracan Spyder Performante and the Huracan Superleggera. The company is expecting to surpass the 2,500 units mark this year with the Huracan range.
The big Lambo 12-cylinder, Aventador's sales also increased to 1,104 units from 1,003 in 2015. Last year December, the model production reached 6,000 units.
