German automaker Audi will have a full works team for the fourth season of the FIA Formula E championship.
Audi has completed the takeover of the Abt Schaeffler, and the team will run under the name Audi Sport Schaeffler Abt. Schaeffler will continue as the team's technical partner and Abt. will run the team.

Previously, Audi had stated that it would make use of Formula E to promote its e-mobility programmes. IN 2016, the German manufacturer announced its plans to take over the team and now the automaker has completed the process.
Formula E will be Audi's first factory single-seater racing program, where it will join other manufacturers such as Jaguar and Renault. The Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport has already won five races in Formula E.

Head of Motorsport, Audi, Dieter Gass said, "Formula E delivers spectacular motorsport in the hearts of fascinating cities and is a tremendous stage to present electric mobility and motorsport in their most emotive forms."
