Audi Self-Driving Car Test Approved
Audi self-driving vehicle will take a test-ride the state of New York in about two weeks. Audi is the first company to begin self-driving vehicle test in New York.
Audi self-driving car test approval given by New York. The German company will be the first in the state of New York to test an autonomous vehicle.
The first approved application came following New York's recent decision that it would be allowing police-supervised self-driving car testing on state roads.

Audi will begin testing autonomous vehicles in Albany commencing in mid-June 2017. The vehicles tested will use Level 3 self-driving car technology.It will have two engineers in the car who will keep an eye on the car and prevent it from any untoward incidents.

He added, "We applaud Governor Cuomo for his leadership and stand ready to assist in defining how this future will unfold in the Empire State now and for years to come."

The company claims the car being used for testing autonomous features has already racked in thousands of kilometres on American highways without any problems.

"Testing in real-world environments is a key step in our pursuit of safer roads,' said Audi USA President Scott Keogh in the press release.
