Aston Martin Red Bull AM-RB 001 Hypercar Makes Auto Show Debut
The Aston Martin Red Bull AM-RB 001 has made its debut on the Auto Show circuit. The AM-RB 001 is designed by Red Bull Racing Technical Director Adrian Newey.
The Aston Martin Red Bull AM-RB 001 hypercar has made its debut on the auto show circuit at the 2017 Canadian International Auto Show.
Aston Martin had recently revealed that their joint-hypercar project with the Red Bull Racing team, the AM-RB 001, would use a 6.5-litre V12 engine developed by Cosworth while the battery pack for the hybrid hypercar would be produced by Rimac, the Croatian electric supercar manufacturer. Ricardo will be producing the gearbox for the hypercar.
The reason for the reveal in Canada or at least one of them is the fact that the Canadian motorsports expert and automotive parts supplier Multimatic which will produce the carbon-fiber MonoCell for the hypercar is based not far from Toronto, where the car is being showcased.
The Aston Martin AM-RB 001 is designed by Red Bull Racing's Chief Designer and Technical Director Adrian Newey, the man behind 10 Formula One Constructors Championship winning race cars. However, unlike his race cars, the new Aston Martin will lose its rather boring alpha-numerical name tag when the British carmaker starts delivering the hypercars in 2018.
