Ashok-Leyland & Hino Motors Renew Partnership For Euro VI Engine Development
Ashok-Leyland & Hino Motors renew partnership for Euro 6 engines.
Ashok Leyland and Hino Motors Japan have entered into a Mutual Cooperation Agreement (MCA) where former will utilize Hino's engine technology for Ashok Leyland's EURO-VI engine development.
Additionally, Ashok-Leyland will support the development of Hino's engine parts purchasing in India for global operation. Both the companies have had a cooperative agreement for engine production in India since 1986. With the new Mutual Cooperation Agreement, both the companies will leverage each other's strengths in diesel engines to improve their competitiveness in the market.
While Ashok Leyland will develop engine along with Hino for BS-VI compliance in India through the engine technology of latter, Hino will improve engine parts development in India by utilizing Ashok Leyland to strengthen Hino's competitiveness.
Vinod K. Dasari, managing director & CEO, Ashok Leyland, said in a statement, "We believe in long-term partnership, and have great respect for Hindo Motors. This cooperation between our companies would be mutually beneficial and enable both of us to produce globally competitive products."
Yoshio Shimo, president & CEO, Hino Motors, said in a statement, "We believe this cooperation with Ashok Leyland takes advantage of the strengths that the two companies have cultivated. Hino will enhance its global competitiveness by utilizing Ashok Leyland's parts procurement capabilities in India."

With the new Mutual Cooperation Agreement (MCA), Ashok-Leyland can develop their engines to be on par with global standards as well as be compliant with Euro VI emission norms. Hino too will benefit from Ashok-Leyland by enhancing its competitiveness in the worldwide market in engine parts.
