Alpine Looks To Freeze Geneva Over With First New Car In More Than 20 years
Alpine will launch the A120 mid-engined coupe at the Geneva Motor Show and here is more details about the car.
Alpine will be officially revealing its first car at the Geneva Motor Show after more than 20 years, as the carmaker has sent out an invitation asking to block the calendar on March 7, 2017.

The car will be a mid-engined coupe, following the concept revealed by Alpine last year. Also, speculations suggest that the car could be called the A120.

Alpine had teased the car in various ways but has never given the glimpse of the final, production-ready vehicle yet. But what's for sure is that the car will weigh 1100kg, and will be one of the lightest cars in its class.

Other details that can be confirmed is that the Alpine A120 will be powered by a 1.8-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine that will make 301bhp, developed by Renault Sport. The engine will come paired to a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

With an advanced launch control, the Alpine A120 should be able to clock 0 - 100km/h in under 4.5 seconds. Prospective buyers have already been invited to pay a deposit, and deliveries are expected to begin soon.

The Alpine A120 will compete with the Porsche Cayman pictured below in the image gallery.
