Almost New 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Sold For $2.25 Million

When said almost new, we mean it since the 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR has only 10km on the clock. The car does need a good clean up though, which we hope the new owner gets on it ASAP.
This Porsche 911 Carrera RSR built in 1993 was sold at the RM Sotheby's Villa Erba event last week for $2.25 million.

What makes the car special is that it still wears the factory-applied rust protection, and is one of only 51 Carrera RSRs ever built. That coupled with the incredibly low mileage makes the car special.

The Carrera RSR was built as a track-ready car, but the previous owner had specced up the car with a full red leather interior. The wheels are finished in purple while the calliper is painted gold.

Powering the car is a 3.8-litre straight six, naturally aspirated engine that makes 350bhp. The Carrera RSRs raced at Le Mans, Daytona, and Sebring, while this particular model barely recorded any usage.

What makes us curious though is why anybody would order such a car, spec it out completely and never use it? We sure hope the new owner clocks some well-deserved kilometres.
