Aditya Patel To Tackle Blancpain GT Series Asia In A Audi R8 LMS
Indian race driver Aditya Patel will compete in the Blancpain GT Series Asia in a Audi R8 LMS. The first round of the championship will be held in Malaysia.
German car manufacturer Audi announced that the Indian ace driver Aditya Patel would compete in the Blancpain GT Series Asia. Patel has two strong seasons under his belt in the Audi R8 LMS Asia Cup.

After an exciting 2016, Patel ended his Audi R8 LMS Asia Cup campaign on a high note. He also set India's Top Speed Record of 332.2 km/h in the Audi R8 V10 Plus, Patel hopes to keep the momentum going.

Aditya Patel said, "I would like to thank Audi India for giving me this opportunity and for their unwavering support over the past five years. The Blancpain GT Series is one of the world's premier racing championships and I am really looking forward to being a part of it."

The 2017 Blancpain GT Series Asia marks the debut of the hugely successful and popular European championship in Asia. The championship will reflect the rapidly growing appetite for motorsport in the region.

The opening season has attracted the world's best manufacturers. Which includes Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Mercedes, BMW, Aston Martin and McLaren. The best drivers and teams from Asia and around the globe will compete for the title.

The championship kicks off in Sepang, Malaysia, in early April 2017. Like its European counterpart, the Blancpain GT Series Asia is based on a 2-driver format. Patel will pair with Malaysian-born Australian driver Mitch Gilbert.
