Engineers Are Responsible For 50 Percent Of Road Fatalities — Nitin Gadkari

While addressing the ‘Smart India Hackathon 2017', Nitin Gadkari also revealed that 30 percent of driving licences in the country are bogus. He said going forth; driving licence will be electronically registered under the umbrella of e-governance.

The Minister said, RTOs will have to issue a driving licence within three days of a person completing the driving test, or action will be taken against the RTO. He also said any person, small or big, cannot obtain a licence without clearing the driving test.

Gadkari said 28 driving examination centres had been opened and 2000 more will be inaugurated across the country. The Minister also said that cameras would be installed at signals to reduce the need of the physical presence of policemen.
