2018 Volkswagen Jetta Teased — To Be Super Modern
2018 Volkswagen Jetta teased ahead of debut.
German carmaker Volkswagen has teased the 2018 Jetta on the company's website in Canada featuring an animated teaser gif of the next-generation Jetta.
The teaser image, although bathed in darkness, the gif shows a light moving over the car, revealing the design cues and lines of the 2018 Jetta.
The image also shows the model will have an evolutionary design and features a new front fascia with a more extended grille. The headlights are angular compared to the current model, and the swooping roofline is not extraordinary.
The teaser animated gif also includes a countdown clock that reveals the model will be unveiled in a little over 50 days indicating it will debut at the North American International Show.

Volkswagen North America CEO Hinrich Woebcken has previously stated that the new Jetta will be "super modern" and have an "emotional" design with coupe-like styling. While Volkswagen is yet to reveal complete details of the car, a manual transmission and an R-Line variant will be available.
The MQB platform will underpin the 2018 VW Jetta and rumours suggest that the new Jetta will be powered a turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine. It currently produces 149bhp and 249 Nm of torque.

While it is to be confirmed if the German carmaker will bring the 2018 VW Jetta to India, the premium sedan segment is on the decline in the country, even as Indian car buyers are shifting towards the trend of SUVs.
